Have you seen those crazy people who walk their dogs in the street instead of on the sidewalk?
What is with those jerks, right?
Well... we are those jerks.
Mom walks us in the street and here's why:
She doesn't want us to kill your grass with our pee or poop on your yard, because that's rude.
Yep, it's that simple. So next time you drive by us when we're walking and you're grumbling that we're taking up half the street when there's a perfectly good sidewalk 10 feet to the left, please remember that my Mom doesn't let me pee on your grass unless I really have to go and I, for sure, don't poop on your yard.
Because let's be honest here, despite how wee Mom is, I'm pretty big and then add in Meri on her other side and we do pretty much take up half the street. Can you imagine when we used to walk with Momma Penney and Olive and Zoey? We were the entire street wide! Doggy train comin' through!
It's not that Mom doesn't carry poop bags with us on our walks, but really it's that she doesn't want to carry poop for an undetermined amount of time and she says we have a huge yard to poop in now and it's almost impossible to pick up all the poop. It's just easier to not let us do our business until we are at home.
Also, if you are a stranger and you want to stop and admire us, we welcome that, but please don't ask us to stop so you can pet us. We're workin' when we're walkin'. If Mom happens to stop because she wants to talk to you, then you may pet us, but please don't ask us to stop in the middle of our work, we would never ask you to stop in the middle of something you are doing to pet us.
