We went to another Prince Frederick meet and greet this weekend.

I got to see my friends Lola, Ripley, Tempy, Booth, Ely, and Scarlet!  I also was a treat piggy and tried to eat all the treats that were being offered to any dog other than myself.

It was much funs!
Warning: there's lots of fawn doggies in these pics that Mom took!

Miz Tommie was being mean by squeakin' a squeaky toy we couldn't habs.

Then, Mom took me to a new vet...  I wasn't sure about this place since they had a slippery floor, but I enjoyed meeting all the new people and Mom enjoyed my bill not being over $100 for the first vet visit ever since we've been together.  The vet lady that saw me said that she even has Greyhounds from GEGR, so she has a cousin!

The vet lady watched me walk with my limp and checked my foot and then checked my range of motion at my wrist and my elbow and my shoulder.  She said that I'd probably hurt my shoulder at some point so I wasn't allowed to do any crazy running or even any extensive walking for TWO WEEKS.  She was almost not sure that going into the woods for business was ok because it's about 1/4 of a mile there and back.

On the way to the vets.
I was pretty tired.

"Mom, please let me outs so I can go sniffin'."

Mom givin me kisses.  I showed her who's boss when I gave the vet lady kisses....
Mom was extremely jealous.

PS.  I got to hang out with my other cousins, Noodles and Judge over Christmas.  Mom got a bad idea from Aunt Courkie to buy reindeer antlers for me....

This is what shame looks like:

Don't let your humans subject you to this kind of torture.  Ensure that everyone sees your tortured, refusing eye contact face.  They will not only give you extra treats, but tell your humans that they are mean.

Chaos in the night!

So, Phil's Mom here.  Phil is napping.  Miley is napping.  But I had to share a story from last night.

You see, we went to bed pretty early.  By 10pm.  It was nice to be in bed that early.  I mean, for the pups, it's just a location change for the thing they do all the time, but I was glad.  It didn't take long for me to fall asleep and I was sleeping good.  And then.. COMMOTION IN THE NIGHT!!!

There was a growl, a bark, more growls and barks, the sound of something hitting the wall.

I was very afraid.  What took place in those 2-3 seconds of madness felt like a full 5 minutes.  My heart was pounding.  The first growl woke me up and I used my VOG (voice of God, for my non-dog-term-peoples) to yell, "HEY!"  This usually works at getting dogs to stop what they are doing and focus on me and what I'm telling them.  My VOG of didn't work and there was more growls and barks, there was more VOG.  In my slumbering stupor, I was struggling to process what was happening, especially since my VOG wasn't working.  2 minutes seconds later, I finally came to and realized I needed to turn on the light.

Turning on the light revealed 2 very confused, unhurt dogs, 1 misplaced blanket... and a lamp on its side.

You see, my apartment isn't large.  It's actually quite confined for an 80 pound Phil-boy.  He has mastered backing-up to places he wants to go.  Sometimes necessary, sometimes not.  I find it amusing, so I just giggle and go on about my day.  In the bedroom, there is a lamp that isn't really in a good place, but it's at the electric socket that is connected to the light switch so it has to be where it is.  This lamp has to be passed to get to Phil's bed in the bedroom.  He has whipped it with his tail so hard before that its swayed like it was going to fall before, so the lamp being knocked over wasn't really a surprise.

I'm still not actually sure what happened.  It was midnight:45 when I turned on the light.  After picking up the lamp, while consoling both dogs and reassuring them that everything was ok (to include having to get treats out for Phil (the most food motivated dog on the planet) since he was pretty much shell-shocked and wouldn't come to me or do anything but lay beside the my bed staring at the wall.  Miley really liked this surprise treat time at 1am) I finally jumped (literally) back into bed.

After the heart attack that is thinking that your dogs are sleep attacking each other for no apparent reason, it took me over an hour to get back to sleep.  In that time I started putting together the pieces.

Miley stole Phil's (normal) bed last night.
Phil went to bed in the spare dog bed I pulled into the bedroom for Miley.
I covered Miley with Phil's blanket.
Phil was laying on the spare blanket so he didn't get covered.
I went to bed.  There were no issues with the sleep arrangements.
The aftermath of the chaos revealed Phil's blanket on the wrong side of the bed and an over turned lamp.

My suspicions are that Miley was getting up to reposition and wanted the blanket off of her.  In her attempts, she pulled the lamp over which scared her (she's a spook), she probably freaked out and stepped on Phil who has serious space issues.  Phil probably didn't like being stepped on so he lashed out (cause he's an asshole).  When the lamp fell they both freaked out and all the while I'm yelling "HEY!" over and over at the top of my lungs fearing that when I turn the light on there is going to be blood on at least one dog.

I'm sure my downstairs neighbors enjoyed their 1am wake up as well.  I heard their dog start barking from the Phil and Miley's barks and my yelling.  This is payback for how their dog barks at pretty much anything all day long (although it is getting better).

Thankfully, there was no blood, only 2 dogs with some serious shakes.  I gave them both hugs and Miley settled back down pretty quick.  Phil wasn't having that.  I walked over Phil till his butt was between my legs and leaned down to hug him.  I held him till he stopped shaking.  I was his personal thundercoat.  It only took about 30 seconds for his heart to stop pounding and the shakes to stop.  But he still wouldn't go back to his bed.  I think he was afraid of the lamp, lol.  I got out a treat to break apart to motivate him to come to me and go back to his bed.

Miley realized what was happening first and she got very excited.  Miley can SIT!  It's really cute.  Someone needs to teach Phil to sit.  Once Phil realized that the treats were out, he was more willing to follow commands.

They both passed the lamp a few times, for good measure and then we all went back to bed.

While I appreciated no blood... I did NOT appreciate the interruption in my sleeps.  I think I need to go wake up the pups now!  tehehehehe.  Payback sucks! :D

Miley is a snuggler.  And by snuggler, I really mean body-taker-over-er.

Phil.. is NOT a snuggler.

For Fanksgibing, we had a Kody!

For Fanksgiving, mah friend Kody came to stay wif us since his Mommy was going out of town.  You member Kody from when he came wif his brother, Moe?  Kody stayed with us for a week.  He was pretty good for a puppy head.  He didn't give me any issues, but I fink dat Mom got a little frustrated a few times wifs him.  He always made up for it wif kisses though.  Mom lubs puppy kisses.

Kody and I were waiting in my house for treats!

Kody is "broken" and gets up on the furniture, but Mom doesn't mind.
I think Kody thought the sun was too bright in this picture.

Den, one night, Kody was in bed wif Mom and he put his butt up to her face.
Luckily, he didn't habs no stinky butt leaks dat night.

Me and Kody on our walk.

Kody napping and looking out the window for squirrels.

Mom laid down for a nap one evening and Kody used her butt for a pillow!

Merry Christmas from Kody!!

Kody doesn't usually like peanut butters, but this day, he surprised us all!

Kody usin' Mom's arm as a chin pillow.

Oh, you were sitting here?  Not no mores.  -Kody

Kody gibin Mom lubins.

Kody being a puppy head.

We were really excited about rawhide sticks.  REALLY EXCITED.

I didn't like this.

Let me explain that last picture.  You see, what happened was..  Dad got this "good idea" from Kody being on the furnitures that I wanted to be on the furnitures so while he was on Skype with Mom, he suggested that she put me up on the bed...  and she did it.  Mom had to literally lift me up on the bed and..  I.didn't.like.it.one.bit.ever.  I pretty much just stood on the bed frozen.  Mom had Kody hop up on the bed so she could take this picture.  Then, she left.  SHE LEFT ME ON THE BED GUYS!!  I didn't know how to get down.  Dad was still watching on Skype but Mom went out of the bedroom and so did Kody and I was standing on the bed scared cause I didn't know how to get down!  Mom kept saying jump down, which is also what she says when I get out of the car, but this was NOT the same.  Nope, nope, nope.

Eventually, I laid down again.  Then I stood up again.  Mom was watching all this from the kitchen.  When she opened the door and crinkled the carrots bag, I knew that I had a decision to made.  I didn't like it, but I jumped off the bed and went straight to Mom to get my carrots.  She gave me lots of carrots that day because I had been so patient and good.

The lesson is, don't EVER listen to Dad's "good ideas."  They aren't really good ideas.  He also put me up on the couch when he came back home with us for a few days in November.  I didn't like that either.  I don't like slippery or squishy surfaces where I'm standing/walking.  Serious.  I don't.

Bacation for Phil and Mommy!

On Halloween, Mom and I started a trek to NC.  She said we were going on bacation.  I was staying with Grampy and Grammy though.

Here we are on our way to NC.  I was watching for cops.

This was the day Mom left me to start her bacation with Dad.  I was upset that she was leaving me.

I refused to look at Mom.

Grampy didn't really take any pictures of me while Mom and Dad were away bacationing in Denver, then Arizona, then the Grand Canyon.. so blame him for no pictures.

I got to do arts and crafts while Mom was away.  Aunt Courkie painted my foot and I got to "sign" a card for Aunt Desaree who is in Army bootcamp.

When Mom and Dad came back, Mom made sure to take some pictures though.  She's really a good Mom even if she leaves me behind.

I was obviously chasing a squirrel in this dream...
Or I found that fuzzy black dog again.

On the way home I had to my sniffs in.

My space was a lot more cramped on the way back to MD since we had Dad with us.

YAY for bacations!

Prince Frederick Petco October Meet and Greet

Back in October (whew that was a long time ago!), Mom took me and Norman to a meet and greet in Prince Frederick.  I love hanging out with Norman.  We are old men together so we really just hang out, we don't really play.

Doesn't Norman have some nice thighs?

Oh, hai, Norman!

Hangin out like old mens.

We both had our own window.  Lubs fresh airs.

Here we have (L to R): Norman, Ripley, Kura, Lola, Saya, and Phil's cheek.

Ripley is guarding his momma while all the other doggies are getting pettins.
Does Ripley look like he's missing something?

On the way home, Mom had to stop and get gas.

Norman is an Alabama fan during football season.  Mom says we cheer for NC State...

Meet and greets with friends are so much fun!!  This meet and greet was very interesting because there was a limited amount of space and three cat adoption groups showed up that day.  We had cats on our left AND right.  Miz Tommy was ready for too much interest with her spray bottle of fire water.

There was a very rude cat lady there and Mom told me that if I peed on one of their blankets I wouldn't get in trouble.  This was probably the first meet and greet that I didn't pee on/in anything.  I'm full of surprises sometimes!

Also, going on car rides has become my favorite thing.  Mom used to have to coax me and sometimes even lift me into the car, but now I jump right in and wait on Mom to remove my leash.  Then I patiently wait for her to get in and start the car so I can get my window time.
